A General Service Unit (GSU) officer is being held by detectives in connection with the death of a 28-year-old woman at the Asort Apartments in Lang'ata.

According to OB number 20/11/01/2024, the caretaker of the apartments reported to the police that the body of a woman was found, allegedly having jumped from the third floor of the apartments.

"The scene was visited by Deputy Ocs Duty Officer, DCI Langata, and the body of one Nelvin Museti was found lying dead at the back of the said apartments," the police report read.

After the recovery of her body, police initiated investigations and determined that the deceased was accompanied by a male companion before the reported suicide.

"The scene was visited by officers from the National Police Service in Langata. After revisiting her room, the following items were found scattered: a used condom, an empty 750-millilitre Viceroy whiskey bottle, a quarter-full 2-litre bottle of Coca-Cola soft drink, 2 glasses, and a half-smoked roll of Bhang," the police report added.

According to the police report, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) conducted a mobile telephone analysis of the victim's phone. The analysis revealed that Police Constable Victor Ouma was in constant communication with the victim.

"Further analysis revealed that the subscriber proceeded and joined the victim at her apartment for the night. Additionally, he was found to have purchased several items before proceeding to the deceased's house," the report read in part.

The police have since revealed that investigations are ongoing to establish what transpired on the alleged night.
