Bungoma: GK Prison warder arrested with contrabands worth Ksh10,000

A prison warder attached to Bungoma GK prisons was on Monday, September 5, 2022, arrested after he was found with 100 rolls of suspected Cannabis Sativa (Bhang), 19 sachets of Kuber, and Four Enjoy Ugandan Gin all valued at Ksh10,000.

Constable Edwin Agoyi who was on Tuesday charged before court was arrested by his colleagues while making his way into the prison at the gate.

Agoyi is being held in police custody as the case continues before the court.

In a separate incident in Kibabii University, Bungoma County, police are investigating an incident where a female student at the institution is nursing injuries at Bungoma Referral Hospital after she jumped through the window from the second floor of a house of a driver of the university.

According to a police report seen by K24 Digital, Rosemary Seka, while appearing drunk, went to the driver's house and requested that he gives her food.

Kassim Shikomere (the driver) gave her food and after eating she forcefully got into his bedroom and locked herself therein.

Shikomere pleaded with her to come out but she refused and jumped through the window forcing him to raise an alarm.

"While at his house on the second floor of the junior staff quota at the university, Shikomere a driver of Kibabii University reported that a female student appearing drunk came and asked for food.

"After eating, she forcefully got into his bedroom and locked herself in. He pleaded with her to come out and she refused and jumped through the window forcing him to raise an alarm," the police report stated.

The security guards rushed to the scene and found her in an unconscious state.

She was rushed to Bungoma County Hospital where she is admitted in stable condition.
