15-year-old Leticia Kyere Penman who reportedly committed suicide in Ghana.

On Saturday, social media was awash with reports that the daughter of Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa had died.

Reports claimed the MP's girl, alleged to be a student at Kalimoni Senior School, committed suicide.

A photo of the purported girl was also shared on social media.

However, K24 Digital has established that the reports are fake and that the picture shared on social media is not that of the MP's daughter.

We have also established that Kalimoni Senior School is a boy's school only as indicated on its website.

K24 Digital has established that the purported picture is of a 15-year-old final year student of Miracle Junior High School at Sunyani in the Bono Region, in Ghana.

The lady has been identified as Leticia Kyere Penman and was reported to have committed suicide on Monday.

According to Citi News Room, a news website based in Ghana, the incident was confirmed by Sunyani Division Police Crime Officer, DSP Kingsley Wiredu.

MP Aisha Jumwa has also come out to dismiss the reports as fake and said she and the family are okay.

"There are reports making rounds on social media that my daughter has committed suicide while in school. I want to say that the reports are fake. My daughter and the whole family at large are well," Jumwa is heard saying in a video seen by K24 Digital.
