Two brothers who were arrested by police in Kianjokoma in Embu North Sub-county and later found dead at Embu Level 5 hospital mortuary will be laid to rest tomorrow.

The preparations to have the duo accorded a befitting sendoff are complete, according to the family.

Felix Nthiga Njagi the family spokesman said that they expected about 1,000 people for the burial but how the issue has been known by many they may experience a mammoth crowd.

He said all COVID-19 protocols will be adhered to and that there will be people on-site to ensure every person has a mask and is sanitized.

The burial ceremony will be conducted at Kianjokoma Primary School which is about 100 metres from their home to create enough space for mourners.

Nthiga said the prayers will be lead by the catholic church and Embu Catholic Bishop Paul Kariuki may preside over the mass.

Yesterday, the Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i said the matter will be followed to the latter.

He disclosed that he had met with the father of the slain boys, the Inspector General of Police and the Attorney General and promised that the law will take its course for those who will be found capable.

"After investigations, the law will be followed over this matter," Matiang'i said.

Last week, the office of the Inspector General transferred Senior Officers from Manyatta police station.

The OCS Abdulahi Yaya and the OCPD Emily Ngaruiya were accused of not having a good relationship with the community.

When the incident happened, the family was allegedly being tossed from one police station to another and denied information on whether the two brothers had been arrested by police.

They were informed about the death of the two brothers by a DCI officer from Runyenjes police station.
