A group of women took to the streets on Sunday to protest after a young girl was drugged and gang-raped at Nkama, Oloitoktok Sub-County in Kajiado.

Led by Nkama Assistant Chief, Lekato Ole Lejeso, the women demolished illegal structures where illicit brew and other drugs are peddled.

The girl, a Standard Eight pupil aged 13, is receiving treatment at the Oloitoktok Sub-County Hospital following the ordeal.

Lejeso decried the increasing levels of teenage pregnancies in the area, saying that 24 students –- primary and secondary-school going girls – are expectant.

Police, he said, have started investigations to arrest the three boys who gang-raped the Class Eight girl.

The group of women that marched on Sunday pleaded with national government and county administrators to intervene to save young girls from sexual predators.
