Barack Obama’s grandmother, Mama Sarah, dies

Mama Sarah Obama, the grandmother of former United States President Barack Obama has died aged 99.

Her son, Said Obama, said the family's matriarch died at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Hospital in Kisumu County early Monday, March 29.

The family said that Mama Sarah had been receiving treatment at the Kisumu hospital for a month and a half.
