The Ministry of Health also announced that it has dispatched a team led by the acting Director-General of Health, Dr. Patrick Amoth, to examine the state of isolation centres in Siaya County.

The team is also set to deliver suppliers for healthcare workers in the region and scale up public sensitisation on how to curb Covid-19 disease.

This is as the government plans to roll out mass testing after receiving over 18,000 kits from Jack Ma Foundation.

Health Cabinet Secretary (CS) Mutahi Kagwe said that mass testing will be the gamechanger in the fight against Covid-19.

CS Kagwe warned Kenyans against early celebrations as the country's coronavirus cases remain low.

"A comparative review of the countries hardest hit now were reporting the same figures we are now. Let us stick to our plan and uphold it: contact tracing, testing, isolating, social distancing and washing our hands. Let us run ahead. In this regard, we are deeply perturbed to see a section of Kenyans not cooperating with the police," said Mr. Kagwe.

The CS also condemned members of the public who are not cooperating with the police, citing an incident in Malindi in which a civilian stoned police officers.

"Stoning policemen is inviting anarchy. While we condemn this despicable behaviuor, we are also asking civil society organisations to vouch for the rights of the police officers," said Mr. Kagwe.

The coronavirus disease has spread to over 21 counties: namely, Nairobi, Mombasa, Kilifi, Kiambu, Mandera, Machakos, Nakuru, Kitui, Kajiado and Laikipia counties.

Other counties were Covid-219 cases have been reported are Kakamega, Murang'a, Nyandarua, Siaya, Uasin Gishu, Kisii, Homa Bay, Nyamira, Nyeri and Kwale.
