At least 10 people were reported dead while seven others sustained injuries following a road accident in Mbooni.
Reports indicate that the incident on Saturday evening involved a 14-seater matatu belonging to Makos Sacco that rolled at Kwa Mbisu in Mbooni West along Kikima Kali road en route to Machakos from Kikima.
This has been confirmed by Mbooni West Deputy County Commissioner Stanislaus Apwoka.
The casualties have been taken to receive medical attention at Mbooni sub-county hospital.
Elsewhere, the Kenya Red Cross reported another incident involving a trailer and matatu.
According to the humanitarian agency, the accident occurred at Mulot and Lulunga in Narok County.
"The Kenya Red Cross Narok team has been activated."
