Papa Shirandula cast remembers late actor in heartfelt messages

The cast members of local television drama 'Papa Shirandula' on Thursday penned heartfelt messages to remember Charles Bukeko known by many as Papa Shirandula on his death anniversary three years on.

Mary Adhiambo, who played Mama Nyaguthii, wrote on her Instagram noting that the thespian played a key role in shaping their careers and being a gateway to opportunities.

"Today marks exactly three years since we buried this great man Charles Bukeko aka Papa Shirandula. This man who contributed positively to our lives. This man who loved us as his children. This man who was the gateway to opportunities in our lives. This man Paps as we would call him. I will forever be grateful 🙏. Continue resting in peace Pap," she wrote.

Jacky Vike, who is known for her phenomenal role as Awinja, shared her screen moments with the late Charles eulogizing him as a monumental figure in her entertainment career.

"Three Years ago today, we buried our father still one of the Darkest day of my life, but I celebrate him even in his absence, He discovered so many of us, iam grateful!

"Keep Resting Papsy, Paps, Mzae your legacy lives on!" Jacky wrote on her Insta.

Kenneth Gichoya, screen name Njoro, celebrated the veteran by posting photos posing with the actor.

He expressed how he deeply missed him, describing him as his big brother.

"Three years a day like today we buried Papa Shirandula. Bado ninalia my big brother. Continue resting in peace. He had a larger-than-life personality and continues to be missed on our TV screens. RIP Papa," he said.

Charles Bukeko, 58, succumbed to Covid-19 related complications at a Nairobi hospital on July 18, 2020.

The thespian was buried in his Namisi-Bukeko village home in Nanderema, Funyula in Busia County.
