Former Machakos First Lady Lillian Ng'ang'a shared her experience of being body-shamed by her own family members and friends.

The mother of one said she was met with brutal truth about her weight when she recently travelled upcountry.

Lillian noted that her folks in the village were not so economical with their words as many questioned why she had added weight, oblivious to the fact that she only gave birth a year ago and was still struggling to shed off baby fat.

When upcountry jana with @nganga_angie we met some family friends and the first thing they said was: Lillian, Kaewanorire atia? (Lillian, how did you get so fat)? 🤣😅," she wrote in part in her post on Instagram.

Lillian further wondered if the gospel of body positivity had not yet reached her village thanks to the bitter truth that her kin told her about her weight gain.

Don’t these people know about body positivity? Massaging my ego koz I just had a baby last year? How such comments can trigger me and affect my mental health? How consistent I am in working out? 🤣😅 If you want honest feedback on anything, please go upcountry 😅” Lillian Ng’ang’a added.

Lillian Ng’ang’a is married to veteran gospel rapper Julius Owino alias Juliani. The duo tied the knot in an invite-only wedding held at Paradise Lodge on February 2, 2022.

Juliani and Lillian started dating in June 2021 – two months before she publicly announced her marriage to Tourism CS Alfred Mutua was over.

Alfred and Lillian officially announced their separation on August 15, 2021.

Lillian and her husband Juliani were blessed with their first child together Utheri on July 23, 2022.

The duo had kept their baby's birth a top secret with Juliani only announcing that his wife gave birth while speaking during an interview with Presenter Ali in September 2022.

The rapper explained that they jealously guarded news about the birth of their son because they preferred to keep their private lives off social media.

The father of two noted that he didn’t prefer parading his family on social media even though both his wife and he are public figures.

“I have two children. A girl and a boy. I welcomed a baby boy recently with Lilian Ng’ang’a,” Juliani said.

Adding that;

“I did not want to say much about it but we got a baby so I am a father of two. The truth is as a father to a baby boy, you are not involved as much. I can’t even compare the experience to when I was parenting my first-born daughter, whom I sired with actress Brenda Wairimu. Raising my newborn boy is an entirely different experience.”
