Dancehall artiste Karagu Kimani alias KRG the Don has come under heavy criticism for flaunting money on social media while many Kenyans are grappling with the effects of runaway inflation.

In a video, which has since gone viral, KRG is seen sitting in the back seat of a car surrounded by stacks of money, casually discussing 'a deal' worth 90 million that he turned down, claiming the amount was insignificant.

Reacting to the post, aspiring politician Alinur Mohamed expressed his disappointment and concern over the insensitive display of wealth at a time when countless Kenyans are facing dire economic conditions.

He pointed out that subsequent economic downturns have left many people struggling to afford basic necessities, including food and rent.

"It's just not okay," Mohamed said in response to the video. "People are starving. One meal a day is a miracle to some. Some have not paid rent as low as 4,000 shillings for months and risk getting kicked out with their children. God, please help us, it's only you who can," Mohamed voiced.

KRG source of income?

The video which has amassed over 20,000 likes, has been shared and reposted sparking controversy all over the internet.

One KOT by the name of Edgar Bwire sparked a conversation with tweeps asking whether music pays that much while other creatives like Stivo Simple Boy are living in abject poverty.

"I have seen a video of KRG the DON flaunting stacks of Notes. Does Kenyan Music pay that much? If it does why are artists like Stivo Simple Boy always complaining of sleeping hungry? I do not know any of KRG's songs except Mambo Imechemuka. What is he doing different?" He probed.
