Kriss Darlin, whose real name is Chris Odhiambo, has been sacked as reggae show host at NTV.

Darlin’s contract was terminated in September after he expressed interest in the Kibra parliamentary seat, Nation-owned Nairobi News reports.

Darlin was the presenter of Saturday night reggae show, Jamrock, which he co-hosted alongside Miss Katiwa.

Darlin’s replacement will be DJ Moh Spice, Nairobi News says.

According to the Nation Media Group policy, Kriss Darlin had to exit after he exhibited interest in politics.

Darlin lost in the ODM Party primaries to the Late Ken Okoth's brother, Bernard 'Imran' Okoth.

The Kibra by-election, pitting Imran against Jubilee's McDonald Mariga, ANC's Eliud Owalo, among other competitors, will be held on November 7.

Kriss Darlin's successor at NTV, DJ Moh Spice, courted controversy in August this year, when he was pictured displaying a gun at a party in Nairobi.

Spice, a licensed gun holder, was later released with no criminal charges pressed against him.

However, his Steyr pistol and 174 rounds of ammunition were confiscated by authorities.
