Musician KRG The Don now claims that he is responsible for the success of every Kenyan musician's career.

Addressing bloggers on Saturday, March 16, 2024, KRG claimed that the Kenyan music industry was in the trenches before he revived it to its glory.

KRG claimed that he was the reason behind the successful music careers a section of musicians were enjoying because he agreed to work with them.

He particularly pointed out that he was the one who returned fellow musician Nyashinski into the music scene after producing his famous song 'Now You Know'. Contrary to KRG's remarks the song by Nyashinski was produced by Beat ya Keggah, a Kenyan music producer living in the United States (US).

While making the claims, the KRG demanded that Kenyans should accord him the respect he deserves for resuscitating the country's music industry.

"Mi ndio nimemake hawa wasanii wote wa Kenya, hakuna msanii ako hii nchi sijai work nayeye. Mi ndio nlirudisha hadi Nyashinski kwa game, mnafaa mniheshimu sana. Just because mimi hukua nimenyamaza najuanga vitu nyingi sana hua hamjui. Nikikuja industry nilipata imekufa ilikua kwa deathbed. Wasanii walikua ka watatu, Khaligraph, Naiboi na Timmy T Dat, hao wengine mimi ndio nimewatengeza," he said.

Loosely translates to:

"I built all musicians in Kenya. There is no musician I have not worked with. I am the one who returned Nyashinski to the music scene. You should respect me. I may be quiet but I know a lot of stuff. When I came in the Kenyan industry was on its deathbed. There were only three well-known artistes among them Khaligraph, Timmy T Dat, and NaiBoi. All the other artists I have worked with."

KRG further responded to Otile Brown's claims that Kenyan musicians did not meet international standards.

In his response to the singer, KRG chewed out Otile saying his sentiments were untrue and that Kenyan music had an audience abroad.

He went on to state that for someone making such claims, fans should stop listening to Otile Brown.

"Imagine someone who is in Kenya speaking such nonsense huyu ata si mtu mnafaa kuskiza, kama we ni fun wa Otile unafaa ujichukie. Huyu kijana ni mjinga ata mnafaa mumzimie hizi mic," he added.
