Tuesday blackout to affect 13 counties

Kenya Power on Monday announced planned power interruptions that will affect 13 counties on Tuesday.

In a statement, the utility company announced that the planned interruptions are part of network maintenance.

"Good Evening. The listed areas will be affected by planned power interruptions tomorrow (27th February, 2024). The interruption is part of network maintenance. For the advance notice, use http://bit.ly/31u4jY4. To access the latest schedule, check under the most recent date," Kenya Power said.

Counties that will be affected include Makueni, Kajiado, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Bungoma, Busia, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Meru, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kiambu and Kilifi.

In Makueni, the blackout will affect areas such as Wote Town, Watuka, Wote KPLC Office, Mwaani, Makueni Referral Hospital, Uviluni, Nthangu Market, Shimo, Kasarani, Westlands, Slaughter, Mwaani Sisters and adjacent customers.

Kajiado areas that will be affected Kitengela Medical, EPZ, Peniel, Kapiti, Stepping Stone, Whitestar, Deliverance Road, Baraka Road, Balozi Road, Mama Muiruri, Tropicana, Upper Valley, Chuna, Safaricom 1, Safaricom 2, Muigai, Polica Sacco, Kimalat and adajcent customers.

The areas will be affected from 9 am to 5 pm.

Baringo areas that will go without electricity include Kaptimbor Market, Showground, Ebenezer, Pemwai Girls, Alpa Radio, Imani Radio, Ossen Market, Ossen Girls, Kabartonjo Boys, Kabartonjo Town and adjacent customers.

In Uasin Gishu areas that will be affected from 10 am to 3 pm include Lingwai, Bindura, Chemusian, Chuiyat, Kipkabus Naiberi Resort, Sisibo Factory, Kapsundei, Flax, Wonifour, KIaptagat, Flax Naiberi, Cheptigit, Ole Engai Flowers, Sosiani Flowers, Asai Flowers, Bayate, Burnt Forest, Solita, Kondoo, Cherus, Chereber, Kitingia, Olare, Ndanai and adjacent customers.

Similarly, parts of Busia county that will be affected include Namahindi, Mungatsi, Otiriks, Akobwait, Musokioto Benga, Igara, Kaludeka, KIwangamor, Ekisimo, Lupida, Koshiolai, Kapina, Katira, Elizabeth Opedur, Sierra, Kokare, Kamolo, Kiriko, Osopotoit, Opare, Akharbijan, Kidera, Kotur, Kodedema, Gara, Madende, Luanikha, Sikinga, Mudembu, EsidendeBudakanyi, Nangeni, and adjacent customers.

The areas will be affected from 9 am to 5 pm.

Kisumu areas that will be affected include, Migingo, Girls, Kadete Market, West Kano Irrigation Board, Arombo and adjacent customers.

The areas will be affected from 9 am to 2 pm.

In Homa Bay, areas such as Kiabuya, Lakinyero, parts of God Oloo, God Bura, Nyenga, Tonga Boys, St Gabriel Girls, Magunga, Sangla, Sanjwero, Kigotol Maize Millers, Wiga, Kigwa, Olando, Nyadenda, and NYS Lambwe will be affected from 9 am to 4 pm.

Meru areas that will be affected Menti T/Fact, Kakwampungu Market, Kathera Market, Kathera Girls, Marimba, Ukuru Prison, Rubiri Market, Ruchoro Market, Uruku Girls, Uruku Market, Kiangurwe, Kithitune Market, Ndaruma and adjacent customers.

Parts of Laikipia that will be affected include, Turraco, Kaloalu Centre, Equinox, Umande, Ndemu, Mailoi Nane,3 Rivers, Green Land Farm, Kongoni Hotelo, Katheri, Peakis Hotel, Makutano Market, Ontulili Secondary, Kangaita Ngando, and Major Mugambi.

In Nyeri, areas that will be affected include Gatugi C/Fact, Giathenege Market, Giathenge Booster, Gatera Market, Gura Thuti Research, KagongoVillage, Karima Mission, Karima Boys School Gthathaithi Market, Gura C/Fact, FT Nyamu Sec, Muthinga Booster, Kiagi Primary and adjacent customers.

Other areas that will be affected in Nyeri include Ring Road, Outspan Hospital, Ngangarithi, Kandara, Ciaraini, Classic, Nyeri National Polytechnic, Nyeri Hospice, Kamakwa, Gitathini, Pembe Tatu and adjacent customers.

Similarly, in Kiambu, St Monica Catholic, Karoa Estate, Coffee Research, Gateiguru, Nginduru, Thuita Secondary, Nembu Shops, Nembu Secondary School, Mutati, Monica Catholic, Karoa Estate, Coffee Research, Gateiguru, Nginduri, Thuita Secondary, Nembu shops, Nembu Secondary Schoolo, Mutati, Kahuguini Shops, Kahuguini Secondary, Karangi Estate, Wauguthuko, Karembu and adjacent customers.

Kilifi areas that will be affected include Glacierf Foods, CocaCola bottlers, Mtwapa Gardens, Ashut Plastics, Mombasa Apparel, Brilliant EPZ, Greenwood Resort, KMA, Aljazeera Estate, Ogalis, Golden Key Ndogo, Kwa Mwalimu Omar, Mzuri Sweets, Shell Mtwapa, Mawenzi Resort, Kipepeo, Mazruht, Dada Millers, Mtwapa Sokonim Handshake Hotel and adjacent customers.

The areas will be affected 9 am to 5 pm.
