Police investigating the mysterious murder of Ezekiel Gitangwa, a teacher whose body was found in a nurses' home, suspect he might have been killed in a love triangle.

The officers suspect that Gitangwa, who was married to Gladys Achoki, was in a romantic relationship with the nurse identified as Agneta Agwata.

Villagers who spoke to the police alleged that Agneta was entangled in a web of illicit affairs with multiple partners.

Police believe that the men involved with the nurse are persons of interest as the police unravel the mystery surrounding Gitangwa's death.

Agneta who is also a person of interest in the matter was arrested by police in Nakuru on Monday, January 2, 2023.

Teacher missing

Gitangwa, who went missing on December 30, 2022, was found dead inside Agneta's house.

His body was found wrapped in a carpet in one of the rooms used for rearing poultry. At the time, the nurse was not around.

Prior to the incident, Gitangwa was last seen descending from a bodaboda at Egesieri village along the Nyamira-Miruka road.

His wife Gladys Bonareri filed a missing person report after he failed to return home. Police mounted a fierce search that led them to the nurses' house.

"A missing person report was circulated and a search was mounted whereby intelligence led the police to the house of a health worker," a police report reads in parts.

The body of the deceased was moved to Nyamira County Referral Hospital mortuary.
