The government has announced evacuation plans for Kenyans in Sudan.

Through Twitter on Friday, the Principal Secretary(PS) for Diaspora Affairs Roseline Njogu said interested persons are required to reach out to these contacts +249900194854 (Sudan) and +254114757002 (Kenya) via text message or WhatsApp.

She says they will be required to provide names, Passport number, the exact location number and details of people in their household.

"Kenyans in Sudan: if you want to evacuated, URGENTLY text/WhatsApp us: Your name Passport number Exact location Number & details of people in your household," she tweeted.

Kenyans have been cautioned to stay indoors as the ministry set up a multi-agency technical team to monitor the situation.

This comes as the war in Khartoum escalate into a humanitarian catastrophe after forces commanded by two previously allied leaders of Sudan’s ruling council began a violent power struggle last weekend.

So far, at least 330 people have been killed as the conflict rages and property of unknown value destroyed.
