Mathare FC permanently bans fan after disturbing video of him promoting femicide

Mathare Football Club (FC) has issued a statement after a disturbing video of one of its fans appearing to advocate for femicide surfaced.

In the video that has since gone viral, the fan, identified as Ronaldo was part of a duo that approached a section of protesters peacefully marching against femicide.

The two told off the protesters saying men have suffered thus women must face the consequences of their 'actions'.

"This is Bunge la Mwananchi bana. Let me tell you…Men have suffered because of these women. Imetuguza ata sisi we have daughters…" the other guy said, to which Ronaldo responded saying; "We are going to kill you! I cannot take you to pizza, you eat my money. You women are going to die. Ati unataka pesa ya mwanaume? Come on! Mtakufa sana…Na bado!"

The video has sparked public outrage with a section of netizens calling on police to apprehend the two.

In their statement, Mathare FC announced that Ronaldo has been permanently banned from attending their matches, accessing their premises nor associating with their team in any manner.

The women's football club further reiterated that it will not tolerate characters who promote violence against other persons.

"BANNED. After video footage emerged yesterday of one of our fans, Ronaldo, insulting and giving irresponsible remarks that promote violence against women, we have decided as a team to permanently ban him from attending our matches, coming to our premises or associating with our team in any manner.
Mathare United Women Team will not tolerate characters like him, who promote violence not only against women but against any human being," the statement read in parts.
