At least 10 counties will be affected by a power blackout on Thursday, December 14, 2023, Kenya Power has said.
In a notice, the utility firm said the scheduled outage in Kiambu, Machakos, Kajiado, Embu, Nyeri, Uasin Gishu, Nandi, Kisii, Migori and Kilifi Counties counties is part of routine maintenance and lasts from 8 am to 7 pm.
"Good evening our esteemed customers, the following areas are scheduled for power interruption dated tomorrow (14/12/2023)," Kenya Power wrote.
In Kiambu, the affected areas include part of BTL, Prisons, Superfoam, MKU, Bidco, Witeithie, Ngoingwa, Tola and adjacent customers.
The power blackout will run from 9 am to 5 pm.
In Machakos County, the main areas scheduled for power outages include Mlolongo town, Sabaki, Ilpolosat, Konza and adjacent customers.
Power blackout in Kajiado County will affect Kiserian. Other areas that will be affected include - Kanisani Road, Kwekwe, Nalepo, Kahuho, Kiserian Town, Pipeline Road, Kipeto, and Saithya.
Outage in Uasin Gishu County will affect Cheplaskei and adjacent customers.
In Nyeri County, the power outage is scheduled for Tetu, Kigogoina, Wandumbi, Chaka, Karundas, Chinga, and Rurunguti areas.
In Embu County, the area scheduled for blackout includes the P1 Oriental Hotel and adjacent customers.
Nandi County's affected areas are Koisolik and Kurgung while in Kisii County, the areas are Ogembo and Kenyenya.
On the other hand, an outage in Migori County will affect Kegonga and Maeta while in Kilifi County power blackout will be experienced in Kilifi, Sea Horse, Magreb, Viwa Hospital and adjacent customers.
