Lawyer Donald Kipkorir has expressed his amusement at the behaviour of certain Cabinet Secretaries who tend to avoid phone calls from lawyers and acquaintances until they find themselves in troublesome situations.

While he did not mention specific names, Kipkorir noted that some CSs believe cabinet positions are secure and, as a result, cease communication with individuals they had previously interacted with regularly.

He further observed that Cabinet officials only seem to seek legal counsel when they encounter issues such as dismissal from their positions or face challenges involving banks and the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).

The lawyer insisted that he and others with similar experiences are not going anywhere and are well aware that when these officials are either removed from their positions or entangled in legal issues they will inevitably turn to lawyers for assistance.

"What amuses me about some Kenyan Ministers is their false sense of thinking joining the Cabinet is permanent! Some of them change & stop picking up calls from those of us who have known them forever," Kipkorir stated.

"Few don’t change. But some of us are old enough to know that when they are dropped or arrested for corruption or lose their properties to EACC or Banks, they come looking for us! We have seen it all. And we aren’t going anywhere," he added.

Kipkorir's comments come in the wake of several Cabinet Secretaries appointed under Uhuru Kenyatta's administration revealing the significant changes in their lives since leaving office.
