Adelaide Khalwale, the first wife of former Kakamega senator, Boni Khalwale, is dead.

Adelaide passed away at her Ikolomani home on Saturday morning, October 5, after a short battle with pulmonary hypertension a source close to Khalwale's family told K24 Digital.

The ex-senator’s wife worked as a secretary at the Department of Education at the Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology in Kakamega County.

Her body has since been taken to Mukumu Mission Hospital morgue.

Boni Khalwale in previous media interviews revealed that he has two wives, the now-late Adelaide and his second partner Josephine Khalwale.

Bungoma Senator, Moses Wetangula, took to Twitter to condole with the family of Khalwale following Adelaide's demise.

"My heartfelt condolences to my brother Bonny Khalwale and his family following the loss of his first wife. May the good Lord rest her soul in eternal peace. Amen!" said the Ford Kenya Party leader.
