Kenya Power issued a notice informing Kenyans of power interruptions in select parts of the country on Thursday, February 8, 2024.
The utility firm noted that Thursday's power interruptions will affect Nairobi, Machakos, Busia, Tana River, Mombasa, Kilifi, Meru and Kajiado counties.
Kenya Power said parts of Nairobi County will be in blackout for eight long hours, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The major areas affected are Westlands and Upper Hill.

Parts of Westlands to be affected include; part of General Mathenge, part of Ring Road, part of Suswa Road, Part of Mpaka Road, part of 2nd Parklands Avenue, Part of 3rd Parklands Avenue and adjacent customers.
Parts of Upper Hill to be affected include; Nairobi West, Madaraka, Geomap, Kenyatta Hospital, Mbagathi Way, Ngumo, Laini Saba, Kibera and adjacent customers.
Kenya Powers said parts of Machakos County, more specifically Tala, Kangundo and Eastleigh, will be in blackout from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Parts of Tala and Kangundo to be affected include; Tala Market, Nguluni, Kangundo, Kangundo Level 4 Hospital, Kivaani, Kithunthi, Mathakutha and adjacent customers.
Parts of Eastleigh to be affected include; Kathemboni, Innecore, Iluvya, Kathemboni Mosque, Mwendandu and adjacent customers.
Parts of Busia County will not have electricity supply from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The areas affected include; Namahindi, Mungatsi, Otiris, Akobwait, Musokoto Benga, Igara, Kaludeka, Kwangamor, Ekisimo, Lupida, Koshiolai, Kapina, Katira, Elizabeth Opedur, Sierra, Kokare, Kamolo, Kiriko, Osopotoit, Opare, Akharbijan, Kidera, Kotur, Kodedema, Gara, Madende, Luanikha, Sikinga, Mudembu, Esidende, Budakanyi, Nangeni and adjacent customers.
Parts of Tana River County will be in blackout from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The areas affected include; Hola Town, Bura, Masalani, Mango Plant, Makutano, Mau Mau Secondary and adjacent customers.
Parts of Mombasa County will experience power interruptions from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Parts of Miritini to be affected include; Miritini Estate, Mbuyu wa Chapa, Miritini Quest, St. Elizabeth, Miritini Catholic and adjacent customers.
Parts of Kilifi County will not have electricity supply from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The areas affected include; Medina Palms Resort, Dongo Kundu, Temple Point Resort, Garoda Resort, Captain Andy's, Kobe Resort, Hemmingway's Resort, KWS Temple Point, Palm Garden and adjacent customers.
Parts of Meru County will be in blackout from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The affected areas include; Urru DO's Office, Antubeiga Primary, Miathene Market, Miathene Hospital, Karimba Primary, Ithamare Primary, St. Martin Boys, Miathene Boys Secondary, Kanjaro Girls, Kiandiu Market, Kitheo Market, Kitheru Primary, Kiathaita TBC and adjacent customers.
Parts of Kajiado County will experience power outages from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The areas affected include; Korompoi, Isinya Town, Kwa Milla, Prayer Center, Pipeline Road, Ramoda, Tumainiy, Diaspora, Exotic Penina, Enkasili, Saris Quarry, Ashanti, Oltoroto, Kisaju, Jamii Bora, Kajiado, Musa Primary, PJ Dave, Fred's Ranch, Kimalat, KAG, Lucky Base, Sucos, Imara Steel, Isinya Rural, Isinya Feeds and adjacent customers.
