Gov't announces 400 internship vacancies for Presidential Talent Programme

The ICT Authority has announced 400 vacancies for internship positions for the Presidential Digital Talent Programme (Digitalent).

According to a notice shared on Tuesday, the agency's CEO Stanley Kamanguya noted that the internship programme which will run for a period of 12 months seeks to prepare ICT graduates with the needed skills to gain workplace experience and build professional networks.

"The ICT Authority invites suitable recent university graduates to apply for the Presidential Digital Talent Programme (PDTP) Cohort VIII Intake. Through this transformative initiative, the Government is looking for young talented Kenyans with a passion for ICT and Public Service to undergo a structured 12-month internship programme in both the public and private sector. Internship objective.

"The objective of the program is to develop and prepare young ICT graduates to take up employment and entrepreneurship opportunities that come up in the ICT as well as other sectors. The program provides participants with an excellent opportunity to gain workplace experience, expand knowledge, mentorship and build professional networks," the agency said.

Stanley also urged Kenyans to apply for the programme on the agency's platform digitalent.go.ke. Interested applicants are urged to apply on or before October 3, 2023.

“Through the Presidential Digital Talent Internship Program (PDTP), the Government of Kenya continues to produce high skilled ICT labour for the industry," he stated.

The vacancies for the programmes are as follows; Network and Digital Infrastructure (150), Software Development and AI (100), Information Security (500), Information Security (50), Multimedia (Graphic Design) and Digital Marketing (50), and Data Analysis (50).

Interested applicants a required to have graduated and attained First or Upper Second Class Honors or the equivalentwithin the last two years.

The applicant should also be an unmployed youth between the age of 21 and 29 years and should not have undertaken any other internship program with the government.
