Police officers in Gigiri have launched a manhunt for a gardener who killed his boss under unclear circumstances before fleeing to an unknown destination.
81-year-old Dr Gerson Mwita, who was a consultant at the Leadership Institute of Kenya, was found lying in his garden with a deep cut on the back of his head.
He also had additional injuries on his face and bruises on his back.
“Daniel Mwiti, the son of the deceased, reported that the gardener had killed his father where a duty officer and his team rushed to the scene and found the body of Dr Gerson Mwiti a Meru aged 81 years a consultant at Leadership Institute of Kenya and the owner of the said Home lying at his garden with a deep cut on the head, the body had additional injuries at the face and bruises at the back,” the police report seen by K24 Digital read in part.
The suspect identified as Bernard Komu disappeared from the homestead to an unknown destination.
Officers from the Director of Criminal Investigations based at Gigiri have launched investigations into the incident.
The body of the deceased was taken to Lee Funeral Home pending a post-modern.
Separately, a Ugandan National was attacked in the Kariakor area near Starehe Boys Centre while going for an evening meal.
The victim identified as Gamole San is reported to have been stabbed by his friend also a Ugandan for unknown issues.
Gamole’s friend rushed to the scene after receiving a call that he had been stabbed by a known person who is still largely.
He was found on the ground with a stab wound in the stomach and a knife beside him.
“Wambuku reported that he received a call that Gamole whom he shared a house with had been attacked near Starehe boys while going to buy an evening meal. He rushed to the scene and found him on the ground with stab wounds on the stomach and a knife beside him,” the police report stated.
The victim succumbed to his injuries while being taken to the hospital. The body was moved to City Morgue awaiting an autopsy.
