Embakasi: DCI investigate how Luqman petrol station cashier was robbed of Ksh1M

Detectives from the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) are investigating an incident where the cashier working at Luqman petrol station in the Fedha area of Embakasi was robbed Ksh1,067, 946 by a gang of two men.

According to a police report seen by K24 Digital, the cashier identified as Fardosa Aden was robbed as she was leaving the office which is located along Outer Ring Road headed to Equity bank to deposit the cash.

The cashier was confronted by two men armed with a pistol who told her to surrender the cash.

She surrendered the bag which contained the cash to the men who escaped with a rider who was on standby on a motorcycle whose number she didn't capture.

"Fardosa reported that she left Luqman Petrol station office along Outering road in Fedha to Equity bank to deposit Ksh1,067,946. When she got downstairs she was confronted by two men armed with a pistol. She surrendered the bag containing the cash to the gang who escaped on a motorcycle which was on standby," the police report seen by K24 Digital read in part.

Separately, on Friday, September 2, 2022, a driver working for Fillers Company Limited was attacked and left unconscious along Nairobi-Mombasa Highway by unknown people.

In a police report seen by K24 Digital, the victim identified as Owen Ayego was found lying on the ground with injuries on the head, hands, and legs.

It was established that the thugs emerged from the thicket when Owen had parked the vehicle to check its tyres.

He was forced into the vehicle which the attackers took control of before driving towards Nairobi and later dropping him along the road.

The lorry which was carrying household items was found abandoned along Kapiti plains' main gate and had nothing on it.

The lorry was driven to Makindu Police station pending inspection as the police continue with the investigations.
