The Anti-Narcotic Unit officers have arrested four suspects with 15 kilograms of bhang in Kamulu, Kangundo Road, Nairobi.
In a statement, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) announced the arrest of three Burundians, Mario Amukula, Josephine Shimunza and Shirimana Dorine, alongside their host Haggai Anakeya Aniango.
"Anti-Narcotic Unit officers supported by the Operations team acting on intelligence regarding persons involved in narcotic trafficking raided the residence of one Haggai Anakeya Aniango within Kamulu Area, Kangundo Road," DCI stated.

The three, according to the police, had no identification documents. They were escorted to Kasarani police station awaiting arraignment.
"The suspect, with his three accomplices namely Mario Amukula, Josephine Shimunza and Shirimana Dorine allegedly from Burundi who had no identification documents were arrested and escorted to Kasarani police station and placed in custody," DCI added.
"The exhibit has been secured as the four pend arraignment."
Bhang seized in Siaya
On January 20, 2024, police in Siaya arrested a suspect and seized sacks of bhang worth Ksh9 million.
The suspect, Justice Onyango Malaki, was intercepted by the police who were acting on a tip-off from an informant as he was ferrying the drug from Busia to Nairobi using a Toyota Voxy.
Officers at the scene searched the vehicle and found 6 sacks of bhang weighing 298.5 kilograms and arrested the suspect.
another suspect in Ugenya sub-county was arrested for possessing seven sacks of bhang.
The suspect, Jared Okoyo Abucheri, was intercepted by officers along Sega-Ugunja Road while transporting the consignment on a motorcycle.
During the incident which occurred on January 8, 2024, the officers who were on patrol at the time stopped him, and upon searching his motorbike, they discovered that the ferried consignment were brooms of bhang stashed into seven sacks.
On January 9, police in Samburu arrested three suspects trafficking 196 kilograms of bhang concealed beneath sacks of beans at Archers Post within Samburu County.
On January 6, police in Nanyuki arrested two suspects and recovered bhang worth Ksh5 million during an operation.
The police, who were acting on a tip-off from members of the public, confiscated the illegal goods which had been stashed in 50 bags.
The bhang consignment was being ferried from Tanzania to an unknown destination in Meru using a Toyota Fielder.
