Harambee Starlets and Simba Queens midfielder Corazone Aquino has made her name not only on the pitch but also by setting fashion trends in the dressing world.
Fashion
Corazone Aquino has been slaying on the pitch and in the fashion corridors of social media in equal measure.
You can easily mistake Aquino for a full-time model if you just concentrate on her social media posts and turn a blind eye to her football activities.
The football ace loves showcasing her modelling prowess in titillating photos that she posts on her social media accounts.
As with the case with most drop-dead beautiful athletes, Corazone Aquino has faced sex predators who tried in vain to exploit her.
"There is undue pressure from men demanding sexual favours, particularly fans that cannot see beyond your being. I’ve not encountered such from coaches but I would advise aspiring girl footballers to remain firm and focused. And it’s good to respect your body always," Aquino said in a past interview with a local news outlet.
The Harambee Starlets midfielder loves to rock outfits that can easily disturb your thoughts and imaginations based on your moral compass.
She often rocks tight trousers and shorts but on rare occasions, she has been spotted in skirts and dresses.
Aquino has a stunning leg tattoo that she loves to show off when she wears short and revealing outfits.
Juggling between football and modelling is not an easy feat given that soccer is quite a physically demanding sport but she has managed to strike a balance between the two professions.
Aquino has played for clubs in Kenya and abroad, and that makes her a notable figure within the soccer fraternity.
Career start
Her love for soccer started when she was young, and her career was launched at Masa Babes, a soccer outfit that was then based in Makongeni Estate.
As she progressed to higher levels of education, so did her soccer journey. She joined Makongeni High Secondary School in 2012 and featured for their girls' team.
She left Makongeni in 2013 and joined Olympic High School, where she became a key figure in their soccer squad. She was part of the contingent that won the 2013 national title and featured in the East Africa secondary school games.
After completing her secondary education, Aquino joined Kenya Women's Premier League side Soccer Queens in 2016 and later became their captain.
Aquino's achievements
Known for her ability to effectively use both of her feet, Aquino has also been an ever-present figure in the Harambee Starlets' set-up since she made her debut in 2016.
The 25-year-old was part of the Starlets' squad that lifted the 2019 Senior Women's CECAFA trophy in Tanzania, and it was that achievement that brought her into the international limelight.
In January 2020, she was signed by Portuguese side Atletico Ouriense but left the club before her contract ended.
She briefly returned to the Kenyan Premier League, where she played for Gaspo Women before joining Simba Queens in mid-2022. Simba Queens - who are three-time Premier League winners - are the sister team for Simba Sports Club, a giant football outfit in Tanzania and East Africa.
