South African-based socialite and reality TV star Zari Hassan has won a prestigious award for the role she played in the popular TV show 'Young Famous and African'.

The unapologetic star won the National Film and Television Awards (NFTA) in the Best Female TV Personality of 2023 category.

The award ceremony took place at the Opera Theatre in Pretoria, South Africa.

Taking to her Instagram page, Zari shared her gratitude with her fans, acknowledging their support.

She also expressed her appreciation to Netflix South Africa, her team, and the entire NFTA organization for recognizing her outstanding work in the entertainment industry.

"The night that was at the #NFTA National Film and Television Awards... Thank you to 'my tribe' for voting, thank you @netflixsa @peac_hy and the whole team. This couldn't happen without you🙏," she wrote.

Zari was nominated in the fiercely competitive 'Best Female TV Personality of 2023' category, pitted against Anne Idibia, who also starred in the same TV series.

Zari brings down the house on the show

In the latest season of the series, tension reached its peak as Zari called out her baby daddy Diamond, for alleging that she wanted to have a third child with him.

This drama unfolded during a date with Ghanaian dancehall artiste Fantana at Diamond's home, a moment that was broadcast on the show.

Setting the record straight, Zari clarified that Diamond's claims were baseless and intended solely to enhance his own image and garner attention.

In a statement on Instagram, she expressed her respect for him as the father of their children, emphasizing that she holds no desire to rekindle a romantic relationship.

She also voiced concern about the potential impact of his false statements on their children, who might come across such information online.

"I hold you in high regard as the father of my children, and nothing can change that. If there were a chance for us to reconcile, you would come running back. It amazes me to see you sitting with temporary individuals in your life, discussing me. You can engage in relationships with whomever you please, without involving me in your bets. I don't want you, and I am not obsessed with you. In fact, it's the opposite – you seem to be the one obsessed with me and unable to find a replacement. I expect nothing more than mutual respect," she expressed.

Diamond, Shakib hug

Diamond, accompanied by his two children, Princess Tiffah and Prince Nillan, received a warm send-off at the airport in South Africa, where they were bid farewell by Zari and her spouse, Shakib, before their departure to Tanzania.

In a heartwarming gesture, Zari's husband, Shakib, embraced Diamond, her former partner, as the mother of five captured this touching moment on camera.
