Kenyan YouTuber Mungai Eve recently elicited mixed reactions after explaining why she cannot consider being employed at the moment and even in future.

Speaking in a local TV show, the content creator said being employed would prevent her from achieving her goals in life.

Mungai who boasts over 480,000 subscribers on YouTube said she would probably die before achieving her goals should she choose the employment path.

"I can never agree to be employed, first of all, because I know my worth, secondly because I have so many goals that I feel if I get employed, I'll probably die before I accomplish them," she said on NTV's Wicked Edition.

Mungai explained that employment has never been her thing, adding that God might have planned that she never works for someone.

"Being employed is not my calling. To some people, that is their thing, there are some people who when they get employed, will execute their work well, but I feel God did not make me be employed, it is not my thing," she stated.

The 21-year-old also addressed challenges that comes with being young and successful, speaking of people who try to solicit money from her as well as friends who felt entitled to her money.

"I've had so many. Actually, I think my past friends are my worst enemies because when they ask for money they feel like you have it. I normally tell someone, 'I probably have the money but sina pesa ya kupeana'. I have the money but I don't have the budget ya kupeana, for now," Mungai said.

She also stated that she can never go broke, noting that she manages her fiances well.

In July 2021, Mungai and her boyfriend, Director Trevor claimed that they make KSh 1.5 million from YouTube a month and KSh 700,000 on bad months.

Mungai's remarks did not sit well with a section of social media users who took issue with her attitude while appearing on the show.

"So by us following you on YouTube we are slowing your vision. Be nice for once and stop bragging," Perice Wamalwa wrote.

On the other hand, Zipporah Nyangama opined; "We viewers are your employer gal, respect us, without us viewing your posts what will you gain?"
