Blink and you might have missed it!

Director Trevor has disclosed that his relationship with Eve Mungai ended a year ago, contrary to the public display of a blissful romance.

In a video shared on the revamped 'Kenya Online Media' YouTube channel, formerly known as the Mungai Eve Show, Trevor, through his new reporter, Captain Nyota, disclosed the truth noting that they had decided to keep their breakup a secret and work together to protect the brand.

"We worked together last year while not being in a romantic relationship until February this year when we officially decided to part ways," Trevor revealed through Nyota.

On Monday, February 19, Trevor came out guns blazing saying he had fired Eve Mungai and taken full control of their shared social media accounts.

He also said Eve would not be getting her usual cut from the income generated by their once co-shared channels.

He unveiled the channel's new identity, rebranding to 'Kenya Online Media (KOM)', effective Tuesday, February 20.

Trevor's announcement came alongside a cryptic message seemingly directed at his former partner.

"Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago," he wrote.

He went further to hold a Q&A session to address fans' curiosity about collaboration with Mungai.

When asked if he would continue working with Mungai, Trevor made it clear that her involvement in their joint platforms was terminated.

"No! Her services are no longer needed in the following platforms: YouTube - 754K subscribers, Insta Fame - 104K subscribers, Facebook - 874K followers," he responded.

Trevor not delivering on his promise?

Following the confirmation of their breakup, an old video featuring the former couple has resurfaced, adding fuel to the fire.

In the newly uncovered video, the couple was interviewed by Presenter Ali, who inquired about the future of their YouTube channel in the event of a breakup.

Trevor explained that although he initially created the channel, he believed it rightfully belonged to Eve.

He expressed his willingness to let her keep it, emphasizing that her name and brand were attached to it.

Trevor confidently asserted that he could start a new channel and attract a similar audience.

He admitted to knowing only the password, lacking knowledge of other channel details.

Ksh800K salary

Following her recent firing, and losing the accounts to Trevor, Mungai will be parting ways with her monthly pay of Ksh800,000.

Director Trevor opened up about his YouTube earnings during a Q&A session with his fans on Instagram in September 2023.

At the time, he disclosed that he and Eve Mungai each earned a Ksh800,000 monthly salary from their YouTube channel.

"Is it true Eve Mungai earns more than you?" A fan asked Trevor.

"As employees of Mungai Eve Media, my wife and I both receive a monthly salary of 800k. Each! Money that is generated through YouTube instream ads and Facebook. Even if angekua anaearn more than me to me it's not an issue for us. We believe in equal opportunities and value eac value each other's contributions to our family and the company.
