Eddie Butita made a grand entrance at Akothee's wedding which was held at the Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club on April 10, 2023.

The comedian's grand entrance 'outshone' all other VIP guests who attended Akothee's wedding.

Butita tagged along with his girlfriend as they flew to Akothee's wedding.

The comedian was a bit hesitant to speak to vloggers who gathered to cover his grand entrance. However, he claimed that he decided to fly to the wedding because all of his cars had been taken to the car wash to be cleaned.

"Wacheni tuende tutulie ni harusi ya Akothee. It's a big day we are here sorry gari zangu zilikua zimeoshwa zote but we will be back," Butita said.

Ksh150,000 per hour

According to the current market waves, the average cost of hiring a chopper in Kenya is between Ksh150,000 and 170,000 per hour for a 3pax helicopter with the price going up to 250,000 for higher capacity choppers.

Butita flew from Wilson Airport to Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club - a distance of about 17 km which takes less than an hour to fly.

'Flying' trend

Flying choppers had been a thing for politicians but in recent days celebrities too have been making grand entrances aboard helicopters.

Prezzo was the first celebrity to make a grand entrance aboard a chopper.

In April 2004, the rapper made history as the first artiste in Kenya to make an appearance at an event on a chopper.

He hired a chopper to fly from Wilson Airport to the nearby Carnivore grounds, a distance of approximately 2 km, to attend Chaguo la Teeniez Awards.

It was the biggest stunt a Kenyan celebrity had ever pulled at the time.

Eric Omondi also pulled a Prezzo as he attended the Luo Experience event at Moran Lounge on August 1, 2021, aboard a chopper.
