Daddie Marto and his wife Christine Kokueendera have made a surprising revelation about their journey to parenthood.

On their official YouTube page seen by K24 Digital, they revealed that they got their third born despite Kokue being on birth control. The couple announced the arrival of their third child on May 12, 2023.

This delightful news came after they had previously welcomed their second child on August 25, 2021.

Daddy Marto lightened the conversation by playfully questioning if the coil was still inside Christine. In response, she revealed that she could still feel its presence, indicating that it had not been expelled during childbirth.

"When I get up I can feel the pain, so it's definitely still there since it didn't come out when I birthed," she said.

"The story of Richard is one funny one, do you still have the coil in you, ama ilitoka," Marto asked.

In an intimate conversation with MaNaPaTau', Christine opened up about her decision to use birth control as a means to enjoy their marriage without the worry of unplanned pregnancies.

Little did they know that fate had other plans in store for them.

During a trip to Nakuru to celebrate Christine's birthday, she started feeling nauseous and bloated.

Curiosity got the better of them, and they decided to take a pregnancy test on their way back to Nairobi. To their astonishment, the test confirmed that Christine was indeed pregnant.

"We had gone to celebrate her birthday in Nakuru, and when we were on our way back to Nairobi, we decide to test because she was feeling nauseous and bloated," Daddy Marto recounted.

'Her goalkeeper skills came forth, and it was confirmed she was pregnant," Marto added.

The unexpected news left the couple in a state of disbelief and contemplation. Christine shared her initial thoughts about considering her options including the possibility of returning to school.

"We were finally getting back to each other doing things just the two of us. I was crying, I could not believe it, I start thinking about my options…. I was possibly going back to school," Christine said.

The two also explained how hard it was to accept the results since they had plans.

They reached out to their trusted gynaecologist and humorously suggested that perhaps the contraceptive coil and the baby had crossed paths resulting in the surprising pregnancy.

"We called the gyna, who was on our speed dial, and we asked him' you remember ile coil uliweka, ni kama ile coil na mtoto zilipitana, mtoto ako tayari," Marto jested.

Reflecting on their previous experiences, Christine humorously recalled that their first child was conceived when they were newly dating and not taking any precautions.

As for their second child, she had just stopped using the copper coil for contraception, and to their surprise, she became pregnant just a month later.

"The second born, I had just gotten off birth control, which is the copper coil, and I was taking a break, literally a month later, I was pregnant," she added.

The couple embraced the unexpected journey of parenting with love and humour, dubbing their children "destiny kids."

"Our kids have been destiny kids, we need to take destiny into our own hands," Marto jested as he talked about their kids not being planned.
