Kenyan singer Kevin Mbuvi Kioko alias Bahati recently sparked controversy with his remarks on polygamy and pastors during a cooking session with his worker Baite, which he playfully dubbed "men's corner."

In the video, Bahati asked his wife Diana to leave the conversation, stating that it was strictly for men to discuss.

He then delved into the topic, questioning pastors who advocate for men to have only one wife and demanding to know where the Bible limits polygamy.

"Mbona mapastor wa saa hii wanatuambia tuwe na bibi mmoja?" Bahati questioned.

Loosely translated, "Why do pastors nowadays tell us to have only one wife."

"Hawa mapastor wanafaa watuonyeshe wapi kwa bible mungu alisema lazima ukue na bibi mmoja," he said.

Loosely translated, "These pastors should show us in the Bible where God said we must have only one wife."

Bahati went on to express his view that the insistence on monogamy might lead to some men not going to heaven.

He compared the situation to biblical figures like David and Solomon, who were known to have multiple wives.

"Mimi naona, kitu itafanya wanaume wasiende mbinguni ni iyo kuchukua bibi mmoja, mungu atakuuliza mbona mimi nikaruhusu David na Solomon kua na mabibi kadhaa lakini wewe ukakua na mmoja?" Bahati stated.

Loosely translated, "I feel like something that might prevent men from going to heaven is choosing to have only one wife. God will ask why I allowed David and Solomon to have multiple wives, but you chose to have just one."

The conversation took an interesting turn when Diana returned to the session. Bahati asked her if Solomon, who had multiple wives, is in heaven.

"Babe do you believe Solomon ako heaven, the wisest man in the bible?" He asked.

When Diana confirmed that Solomon is indeed in heaven, Bahati implied that having more than one wife might not be an issue for one's spiritual destiny.

"So inamaanisha kukua na madem wengi ni sawa? (So having many girlfriends is okay)," he concluded justifying polygamy.

Despite his employee having a strong stance on monogamy, he noted that in heaven, there will be no marriages, quoting Jesus who said that in heaven people will be singing and eating honey and milk.
