This spurred uproar across social media forcing Avril to respond.

Through her Insta- stories, Avril wrote a lengthy statement acknowledging her difficult relationship with the producer through the seven years of dating and parenting.

However, in what may appear as a positive development, Avril said she has chosen to forgive him but acknowledged the move is for her and not to excuse Blessing's mistake.

She says as a couple, they are looking into healthy ways of creating a positive and supportive environment for each other.

In light of assault allegations, the singer noted the matter is with relevant authorities.

"I have always been an extremely private person. I would never talk about anything I'm going through even if I'm being tortured by it. My heart was so heavy that I had to tell the world about my business. Yes I saw the ridicule about me deserving of everything I have been through in my lifetime and I'm sure there will be more ridicule, but I also saw the outpouring of messages of love and support.

"I forgive you J, please find it in your hearts to forgive him too. Everyone is deserving of forgiveness in this life. I acknowledge that our 7 years of relationship and our journey as parents to an amazing little boy have faced challenges and there have been conflicts that escalated into fights. We recognize the need for change and are committed to seeking help and learning healthier ways to communicate and resolve issues. Our mutual goal is to create a more positive and supportive environment for each other, fostering understanding and growth," Avril wrote.

Further, she denied clout chasing with assault allegations saying the move has been pushed by her humanity.

"It's not clout, it's just me being human and deeply understanding that everyone is deserving of humanity, especially in these times where we should all be kind to one another regardless of whether you receive kindness or not you should strive to give it and give it abundantly. I posted this not to condone anything, not to even justify a single thing. Matters are with the relevant authorities and I am doing okay. Just don't want my heart laden with an unforgiving weight on it," she added.
