The late form one student at Chemase Secondary School Kelvin Kiptanui who died in an alleged corporal punishment in school is set to be laid to rest today at Chemase in Tinderet Sub County in Nandi County as the family still awaits postmortem results which was done last week.
The pathologist Simon Omuok who did the autopsy promised justice to the family as the body samples were sent to a government laboratory for further testing after the postmortem exercise at Nandi Hills Hospital failed to show the cause of death.
Family members of the late Kelvin Kiptanui, 16, picked up the body yesterday at 12 pm from Nandi Hills Hospital Mortuary ahead of the burial today.

"As we said last week that we will be burying our son on Tuesday, March 14, we are still expecting justice to be served to the family over exactly what killed this Boy. Postmortem was done by Dr Simon Omuok and we were not told what led to his death as the samples were sent for further investigation but the truth we must be told," the family's spokesperson Charles Kirong said.
Omuok, the government pathologist who led the operation, said further analysis is needed to establish what really caused the death of the 16-old-student who is alleged to have passed on following corporal punishment from his teachers at school.
"Most of the organs that we have operated on need to be investigated in detail to end any suspicious thoughts. The samples have been taken for further analysis at government laboratories," Dr Omuok noted
After the autopsy last Friday, Omuok, who was accompanied by the Nandi-Hills Hospital acting medical superintendent Dr Elkana Chirchir, handed over his report to the county criminal investigation officer Douglas Chikanda for action.
The postmortem exercises took over four hours as family members among them Kiptanui's mother Monica Cherobon, relatives, school representatives and police waited patiently within the morgue for briefing.
The government pathologist was hesitant to make public his report saying they had agreed with the family representatives to leave the matter to the DCI and further findings from government laboratories
“I have handed over the report to CCIO for scrutiny and action. The matter can only be handled by DCI and neither the hospital nor myself can,” Omuok said.
County DCI Chikanda said they had allowed the family to carry out the preparation of the burial as they proceed with investigations and action.
Kiptanui was reported unwell after receiving 22 strokes of the cane from the two teachers who punished him and another student for cheating in a Physics test.
