The Supreme Court has dismissed a petition filed by Ms Martha Karua seeking annulment of Ms Anne Waiguru's election as Kirinyaga County governor.
The top judges on Tuesday tossed out the the Narc Kenya leader's petition, faulting her for not filing the documents within the stipulated 60 days.
The Narc Kenya party leader went to the top court after the Court of Appeal ruled she had failed to prove beyond reasonable doubt claims that bribery marred the 2017 gubernatorial race.
Ms Karua had sought the appellate court's intervention after the High Court in Kerugoya upheld the election of Ms Waiguru.
Judge Lucy Gitari dismissed Karua's petition citing lack of sufficient evidence. She ordered Ms Karua to pay Sh5 million in suit costs.
