Terror suspect arrested after suspiciously questioning Langata police officer about night club

Anti-Terror Police Unit offficers have arrested a terror suspect in Langata, Nairobi.

The suspect, who is an American citizen of Somali decent, was arrested after he suspiciouly questioned and offered to bribe a police officer in exchange of information about a night club.

Ali Abdullahi Hussein is said to have approached a police officer on patrol, asking him the time when the popular club, known as 1824, opened and when it closed.

The suspect also sought to know the specific days that the club is often packed to the brim with revellers.

"The Somali man started asking him about club 1824 on the time it's opened and closed and when the club has many revellers. The orderly officer was reluctant to give out the information and the said suspect was ready to offer him Ksh180,000 but he declined," an OB report seen by K24 Digital read in part.

The officer informed his colleagues about the anomaly and the suspect was arrested.

"He was searched and cash 1396 USD was recovered. he was later identified as Ali Abdullahi Hussein,an American citizen and a Somali national. The duty officer informed the ATPU officers who responded immediately and collected him to ATPU headquarters for further interrogation," the OB report read further.

The suspect is currently being processed for arraignment in court.
