CS Magoha gives hint on transition plan ahead of his tenure’s end at Ministry of Education

Education CS George Magoha on Monday, May 10, during the release of KCSE 2020 results at the Mitihani House hinted at his transition plan ahead of his exit from the Ministry of Education.

Magoha who issued a message of hope to all 2020 candidates stated that he however hopes to leave the ministry after announcing 2022 KCSE exam results.

“In December 2022 we will administer another examination, hopefully, I will not be there, but we shall have planned for everything so that whoever will take over from us will have seamless effort,” Magoha said.

The CS cautioned on being attached to one's employment noting that the world is a stage. That when you get a job one is required to do their best, and when it's time to leave, they do that.

“We must remember that the world is a stage and when you are given a job, don’t get attached to it. Just do what you have to do and ensure when you leave, whoever takes over can proceed from there,” the CS added.

The CS was appointed to the docket during a cabinet reshuffle done by president Uhuru Kenyatta on 2019 March 1.

He came in to replace Ambassador Amina Mohamed who was moved to the Sports Ministry formerly headed by Rashid Echesa.
