A middle-aged man was on Saturday morning (June 13) found dead in his two-bedroom rented house in Ngumba Estate, Kasarani Constituency in Nairobi County.

Police arrived at the scene and broke down the deceased’s door after a foul smell emanating from his house was reported by several neighbours.

Police suspect that the man, whose identity is yet to be communicated, died nearly one week ago.

“The smell was too pungent, indicating that the man died many days ago,” said one of the deceased’s neighbours.

It remains unclear whether the deceased was married, though he stayed alone at his Ngumba home, neighbours said.

Police officers from Kasarani post took the man’s body to City Mortuary as investigations into his death begin.

The cause of his death remains unestablished yet, police said.

More soon.
