A 36-year-old man from Kiptagich Village in Kuresoi South Constituency in Nakuru County committed suicide Thursday night after his wife allegedly left him for a police officer attached to Kiptagich post.

The body of Benjamin Lang’at, a father of two, was early Friday found hanging from a rope tied to a tree near his house.

The deceased’s relatives, led by his brother Amos Lang’at, say Benjamin had earlier complained that his spouse ditched him because he was financially unable to cater for all her needs.

According to Amos, Benjamin’s wife had relocated to a house in Kiptagich, whose rent was being footed by her alleged cop lover.

The deceased’s family members further allege that the police officer abused his powers by unlawfully confiscating Benjamin’s bodaboda in a bid to frustrate him.

The deceased was taken to Olenguruone Sub-District Hospital morgue.
