World Cup qualifier: Harambee Stars in Kigali ahead of qualifier against Rwanda

The national football team Harambee Stars arrived in Kigali, Rwanda ahead of their 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifier against Rwanda on Sunday.

The Ghost Mulee coached side departed the country on Thursday evening, a few hours after they drew 0-0 with Uganda in their opening qualifying fixture at the Nyayo National Stadium, Nairobi.

Harambee Stars are set to have a recovery session as they seek to go top of Group E in their bid to qualify for next year’s finals in Qatar.

Kenya are placed in Group E against Mali, Rwanda and Uganda.

In another Pool E World Cup qualifier fixture, Mali edged Rwanda 1-0 to top the group.

Stars will go back to the drawing book as they prepare to play Rwanda in an away fixture on 5 September 2021.

A win for Kenya will see them top the group and hope Mali falter against Uganda in their quest to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

There are seven African qualifiers scheduled on Friday across the continent with h contenders Cameroon, Ghana, Ivory Coast and Nigeria all getting their campaigns underway.
