Sacked former international player Dennis Oliech is spoiling fora bruising battle with Kenyan league giants Gor Mahia following the shock termination of his contract on Tuesday.

Gor Mahia cited cases of indiscipline and the unauthorised use of the club’s jersey in a campaign poster reportedly released by Oliech, as their reason to end his contract. The player has now come out guns blazing and faulted the club’s move.

While both player and club cite reasonable grounds for their cases, the turn it has taken promises a protracted public drama.

His brother and agent Ken Oliech took to social media to challenge senior club officials over the same.

“Sally Bolo and Lodvick Aduda, do you want us to play the game? We are good at it,” he said.

“You cannot sack me because I’ve not fully recovered from my injury. As far as I’m concerned I’m still a Gor Mahia player and the issue about Kibra politics is fake news,” Oliech told a local website yesterday.

Club officials, however, claim that they have evidence Oliech was the source of the poster as he even sent it to some of his team-mates on WhatsApp.

Insiders in the club claim that Oliech has been in bad books with the management for various reasons including championing for players rights and that the officials had been looking for a good reason to get rid of him.
