Harambee Stars will take on Senegal on Monday night at the 30 June Stadium in Cairo with historic last 16 slot at the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2019 at stake.
It is a do-or-die clash for both teams as they hope for a positive result that will boost their chances of progressing to the knockout stage of AFCON 2019 finals.
Both Kenya and Senegal have registered a win and a lose so far in Group C, but Senegal’s Lions of Teranga are rated above Harambee Stars, being 83 places higher than Kenya in the latest FIFA rankings.

Kenya have never scored even a single goal against Senegal in AFCON in three previous meetings, managing a barren draw and losing twice.
Senegal’s impressive head-to-head record against Kenya is a boast ahead of the tie.
The two teams have met thrice before, the last being 15 years ago in the 2004 Cup of Nations finals in Tunisia where Senegal won 3-0.
The other two meetings between the teams were in 1990 and 1992.
The best result Harambee Stars have managed against Senegal was a 0-0 draw in 1990.
If head-to-head statistics is anything to go by, Senegal are in a better position to emerge a winner, however, Harambee Stars spirit in their win against Tanzania on July 27 is something that should worry Senegal.

Injury boost
Harambee Stars are set to welcome back defender Joash Onyango who missed the first two matches against Tanzania and Algeria with a toe injury.
Philemon Otieno is also set to return to the starting line-up after missing Tanzania’s game.
Senegal meanwhile are boosted with the return of midfielder Idrissa Gana Gueye and Ismaila Sarr, having missed the 1-0 defeat to Algeria.
