The Kenyan Judiciary has set the record straight about a viral photo of a mystery woman who is claimed to have been sued for ‘eating fare'.

The photo has an attached article, that alleges that the woman was charged with the offence at the Milimani Small Claims court.

The picture that had been spread across social media by Kenyans led by ex-Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on his page appeared to have been taken in 2018 by a local publication.

From separate fact-checkers, the victim in question is identified as Judith Wandera. She was jailed for 15 years after being found guilty of defilement and performing indecent acts with a minor.

In the reports now labelled fake by the Judiciary, the lady had been sued and ordered to pay her boyfriend Ksh23,750.

This was allegedly after the man sent him Ksh3,000 to use as her transport money to attend his birthday party but was a no show and was unreachable on the phone.

This confirms that no woman has been arraigned in court for 'eating fare'.
