A woman alleged to have spiked a Ugandan businessman drink before stealing cash from him was yesterday presented in court to take a plea.
The woman identified as Clare Monyangi Moseti is said to have stolen Ksh130,000 from Joseph Kyakulumbye at an apartment in Kilimani.
Reading from the charge sheet, the court clerk stated that;
“The incident happened on the diverse dates between October 14 and 16.”
Moseti was also charged with the second count of administering drugs to Joseph contrary to the law leaving him unconscious for hours.
According to reports, Joseph had just got into the country for his business. and on the first day, he went to a posh entertainment joint in Kilimani where he bumped into the two ladies and exchanged contacts.
Later on, Joseph asked the two to accompany him to his apartment and without even hesitating they all went before one of them left for her house.
The following day, Moseti in the company of the complainant went to the club for some refreshment before going back to the house but Moseti claimed that she still needed some more drinks.
Later that evening while they were still having fun at the apartment, the complainant passed out.
There and then, Moseti called for an uber driver to pick her but a suspicious security guard could not let her go and upon checking on Joseph, he found him in deep sleep while naked on the couch.
The accused however managed to leave the following day while Joseph was still unconscious and only woke up ten hours later feeling sick and tired.
The guard narrated to him what had transpired the previous night and he realized that his money was gone.
Joseph tried to contact Moseti but her phone had been switched off prompting him to report the matter at the police station leading to her arrest.
Moseti was released on a cash bail of Ks50,000, pending mention on November 1.
