Police in Limuru, Kiambu County have launched a hunt for a middle-aged woman who chopped off her 7-month-old son’s penis on Tuesday, November 24.

It remains unclear what made the suspect, Winnie Mutheu, to commit the heinous act.

The infant, who was found bleeding profusely by neighbours, is receiving treatment at the Kijabe Mission Hospital.

“The baby has to use special pipes to answer the short call of nature since his penis was completely severed from his body,” the victim’s aunt told K24 Digital.

“We don’t understand why the child’s mother harmed him in such a cruel manner,” said the aunt, adding: “Honestly, no one had provoked her into committing such a cold act.”

The infant’s relatives are now urging well-wishers to help them raise money for the victim’s treatment.

The incident was confirmed to K24 Digital by Limuru OCPD Mwaniki Ireri.
