75-year-old German w***n arrested at Moi International Airport for d**g trafficking

A German woman was on Sunday, July 24, 2022, arrested at the Moi International Airport, Mombasa, after police reports showed there was a warrant of arrest against her for drug trafficking.

The woman identified as Franzen Sieglinde Lise was intercepted by immigration officers at the airport immediately after she landed from Frankfurt.

"The German female National identified as Franzen Sieglinde Lise aged 75 was arrested after traveling from Frankfurt to Mombasa as per the warrant of arrest of 29/1/2009,” the police report read.

She was then placed in custody awaiting the Anti Narcotic police unit.

The arrest comes years after an arrest warrant for drug trafficking was issued against her in January 2009.

Similar drug trafficking incidents

The incident comes a few months after detectives in Mombasa arrested a woman for possession of cocaine worth Ksh100million in May this year.

During the arrest made by detectives from the Transnational Organized Crime and Anti-Narcotic Unit, the suspect identified as Nuru Murshid was found with 35 sachets of cocaine in her suitcase.

At the time of the arrest, the detectives who acted on a tip-off found the 29-year-old at her house with the drugs in her possession.
