The body of the Late Kibra MP Ken Okoth will not be flown to his mother’s native Kabondo Kasipul land in Homa Bay County, K24 Digital has learnt.

Previous arrangements to have the remains of the MP taken to Homa Bay were on Friday quashed after the lawmaker’s family said they fear mourners in Homa Bay “will grab Okoth’s coffin and forcefully bury him”.

“Should they be allowed to do that, they would have acted in breach of Ken Okoth’s will. Out of fear, we wish to say that Okoth will be cremated right here in Nairobi tomorrow (Saturday, August 3),” a source close to Okoth’s family told K24 Digital.

Okoth’s interment plans, which had been blocked on Thursday, will go on as scheduled after a court in Nairobi lifted the interment injunction which had been successfully sought by the MPs’ alleged co-parent, Anne Muthoni Thumbi.

Thumbi was on Friday allowed to have her 3-year-old son -- allegedly sired by Okoth -- subjected to DNA test in a bid to prove that the boy is indeed Okoth’s scion, hence has a right to claim inheritance to his property.
