East Africa’s leading telecommunications company, Safaricom, will close all its shops in Kenya on Thursday, July 4 between 10:30am and 2:30pm in honour of the firm’s Late CEO Bob Collymore.

The move will allow Bob Collymore’s wider family to reflect on his life, said the firm.

Collymore’s memorial service will be held on Thursday at the All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi.

Safaricom says the memorial service will be aired on Kenya’s TV stations.

“Members of the public shall be able to view a livestream in Uhuru Park,” says the telecoms giant.

The Safaricom chief succumbed to Leukemia on Monday, July 1, and was cremated in a private function at the Kariokor Crematorium on Tuesday, July 2.
