A 48-year-old woman who claims to be a travelling agent has been arraigned in Nairobi's Milimani law courts Nairobi for organizing sex sessions for men with a 16-year-old girl in Nairobi.

According to the charge sheet in our possession, Leila Waithera Kassim committed the offence of benefiting from child prostitution on diverse dates in the month of September and October 2021 within Nairobi CBD, Ngara and Eastleigh for the purpose of sexual intercourse.

According to available police documents, the minor's mother abandoned her and got married in Uganda while her father was convicted for stabbing her with a knife in her left thigh, and since she has no one to pay for her school fees at Kibera Girls academy, she dropped out. She then started looking for a job in Eastleigh, Nairobi.

On arrival, she went to the mosque where she met a Somali man who helped her get a place to sleep for two weeks until he began demanding sex which she declined.

"In the morning, when she was preparing to leave the hotel she met the accused person Leila Kassim who offered to help her, "the police report read.

The accused told the minor that she is a Muslim and was travelling to her home in Mombasa so she offered to travel with her promising to keep her safe.

They packed from Eastleigh and went to CBD where they were supposed to board a bus to Mombasa but the accused did not book any bus according to the minor's statement to police. The minor says they later that night went to a nearby restaurant where they stayed for a week

"She kept going out and coming back and when the minor asked her when they were travelling to Mombasa she kept on promising her of a day," the police report read.

After several questions from the minor about their Mombasa trip, it is alleged that the accused person finally accused a 'tough economy' and advised that they get back to Eastleigh.

But before that, the accused person allegedly introduced her to a man of about 40 years identified as Paul.

Paul allegedly booked for them a hotel at Ngara and asked her to sleep with him for Ksh1500.

The complainant refused but Paul forced himself and raped her thereby breaking her virginity, according to the court papers.

Court documents also reveal that the accused also sold the minor to European men at Ksh5000 every day.

At one time, the woman allegedly gave her out to a Mzungu while she was bleeding and in pain.

Police say the accused kept taking the minor to different lodges in the CBD , Ngara and Eastleigh to sleep with men at a fee and the money would be sent to the accused's phone number.

According to the police, the minor was rescued by a good samaritan who saw her crying outside Muchatha restaurant in Ngara.

The man identified as Daniel eventually took her to Central Police station where he reported the matter.

The Chief Magistrate has ordered the accused to plead to charges on October 29, 2021.
