A family in Webuye West Constituency has been thrown into confusion after their son was called to a girls' school in the ongoing Form One selection.

Spencer Wangila, who aspired to join Kimilili boys, was shocked to learn that he was selected to join Narumoru Girls School in Nyeri County.

Wangila, who sat for his KCPE at Misikhu FYM primary school and scored 370 marks, is now in dilemma after his result slip indicated that he was a girl.

''When my parents went to pick the result slip, we were surprised to learn that it had indicated that I was a girl,'' said Wangila.

The father Benard Mukenya told K24 Digital that the error has caused him sleepless nights.

He said he raised the matter with the sub-county education officers who promised to rectify the issue but was surprised to see his son being called in a girls' school.

''When we got the results, we realized that it had indicated that my son was a girl something which forced me to raise the matter with the education office where I was assured that they will correct it with KNEC but I'm surprised that they didn't do so,'' Mukenya complained.

Wangila has appealed to education stakeholders to move with speed and assist him before the schools open on August 2.

''I want to appeal to CAS George Magoha to come to my aid so that I can realize my dream of becoming a teacher in future,'' he appealed.

Mukenya asked the Ministry of Education to be keen in future so that such mistakes are avoided.
